Meon Valley Butchers was established in 2016 and has a wide range of meats, baked goods and seasonal favourites that can be shipped all across the UK at the click of a button. The shop is located in the heart of Meon Valley and offers quality customer service and supplies that cannot be beaten.
The Problem
Meon Valley Butchers is an extremely customer and environmentally aware business. Although their tariff was already on a renewable rate, they wanted to take it a step further and put solar on the roof. This can be an exceptionally expensive endeavour, so the team at Meon Valley Butchers turned to us at Beyond Procurement to consult for assistance in navigating the LoCASE Grant.
Solution and Outcome
Beyond Procurement was brought in to assist Meon Valley Butchers in their application for the LoCASE Grant to put solar panels on their roof. This £5,000 grant is ERDF-funded with a focus on carbon savings across the UK.
By applying for this grant, the business will no doubt save money in the future on their energy costs (£2,233.75 to be exact per annum) by taking their energy off the national grid, but they would also potentially reduce carbon emissions by nearly 3 tonnes a year.
