HOSPITALITY

House of Fisher: 100 Kings Road Hotel

House of Fisher is an environmentally conscious company with operations spread acrossthe UK. This particular project only focused on one of the luxury hotels within Reading.

The Problem

House of Fisher has several operations across the UK, and although they are very environmentally conscious, they needed assistance to analyse their carbon footprint and provide specialised advice on making one of their hotels more eco-friendly.

They have a largely unmonitored energy bill due to the fact that consumption cannot be mitigated as each room is regulated by customers. However, they still want to implement environmental policies amongst staff and throughout the building to reduce waste and energy consumption to the most effective level.

Solution and Outcome

Beyond Procurement was brought in to analyse the company’s emissions (Scopes 1 & 2) to help create a strategic Carbon Reduction Report. This strategy identified that the company already was on a green energy tariff and had already implemented lots of good practices, however, Beyond Procurement was able to offer advice and suppliers for various projects that the hotel wishes to carry out in the near future.

These projects included solar panels, the replacement of plastic miniatures with wall-hanging dispensers and LED light installation. All of the projects would reduce their energy consumption by up to 104.5 tonnes and thus reduce the amount of CO2 released annually by 96.6%.
