The Jewish Museum
The Jewish Museum is a place of historical and cultural themes that Jewish people in Britain have faced over generations. This particular project focused on making the museum carbon-friendly while also being able to make a difference culturally within London and beyond.
The Problem
The Jewish Museum, although embracing the new cultural movements and striving to spread inclusivity and awareness for environmental practices, is faced with the fact that the building is a grade-listed historical location with many artefacts that must be preserved and presented in very specific ways.
However, they want to still implement environmental policies amongst staff and throughout the building to reduce waste and energy consumption to the most effective level.
Solution and Outcome
Beyond Procurement was brought in to analyse the company’s emissions (Scopes 1 & 2) to help create a strategic Carbon Reduction Report. At this time, it is unknown if the business was on a renewable tariff, however, Beyond Procurement was able to offer advice on reducing their emissions by implementing LED Lighting within the facility.
If the tariff is switched to a green or renewable energy supplier, the business could mitigate 33.7 tonnes off of its carbon footprint, which would reduce its emissions by almost half.
