Fenton Pharmaceuticals Ltd
Specialising in both professional and consumer health medical products, managing an extensive brand portfolio.
The Problem
Fenton Pharmaceuticals Ltd is a growing company across the UK, and with that in mind, they know that their carbon emissions could be managed more effectively.
Fenton Pharmaceuticals Ltd specialise in pre-hospital emergency medical products, managing an extensive brand portfolio for 30 years. With the tightening requirements on all companies to measure and reduce emissions, especially those within large organisations’ supply chains and frameworks, support was required to meet these new demands.
For example, all government contracts over £5m require suppliers to have a carbon reduction plan in place. This is being seen across smaller tenders and will gain in weighting and frequency.
Solution and Outcome
Beyond Procurement was commissioned to calculate Fenton Pharmaceutical’s emissions across Scopes 1 and 2 and aspects of Scope 3 (business travel, waste and water). It soon became clear that the company operated very sustainable practices, with the highest emitter coming from flights.
Beyond Procurement’s 12-month ‘Zero’ program follows industry best practice, aligned to GHG Protocols, science-based target initiatives, and Kyoto protocols, offering a robust service to not only measure emissions but also write and implement GHG reduction strategies.
A number of initiatives were agreed upon and implemented across the operation, and existing practices were logged and included in the report.
Since 2019 Fenton Pharmaceuticals has reduced its calculated emissions by 15% and continues to look at areas where further emissions can be reduced.

Fenton Pharmaceuticals scored full marks for their carbon reduction plans on their latest tender and were awarded the framework they were bidding for. This clearly indicates the ever-growing importance of measuring and managing GHG emissions.
Supply chain emissions have begun so a better indication of value chain emissions can be gained. Further engagement with suppliers will reduce Scope 3 emissions, with a Net Zero target of 2027.
